Abby & Austin | Married

Brandywine_Wedding000I remember the day I got the text from my cousin. It was in the fall of 2012 “I’m engaged, will you do my wedding photography.” It was almost in the same breath. We looked at the schedule book and came up with a few free dates… and boom! We were booked for my cousin Abby’s wedding on July 6th, 2013.

Here it is, all the painstaking planning, every detail flawlessly executed. The months of planning and dreaming about this day paid off big! Not only for Abby and Austin, but also for everyone involved, all working so hard to make their wedding day just perfect, a true fairytale. From the first moments of the day, to the very last, there was such a cohesive loveliness and warmth from everyone as the ceremony and celebration of these two beautiful people’s love came to fruition after many years of waiting, praying, and hoping!

Their day was a bit overcast, and even rained during some of the photography time, but you can’t tell. NOTHING would dampen the excitement and anticipation of such a GORGEOUS bride (I mean… seriously girl?!?) and beautiful wedding! Going back and forth, from building to photography outside was no problem!…

Chelsea & Josh | Married

Chelsea_Josh-000Back in May, when I first met Josh at their engagement session, I finally knew what everyone else was talking about! Josh was perfect for Chelsea! I loved seeing them together. Seeing how much they obviously cared for each other and the love they shared. Most of all, I loved seeing my friend so happy! Capturing love stories is so incredible, but it’s especially wonderful when it’s your friend’s love. I am so happy for Chelsea and Josh, and glad to call them both friends!

Chelsea and Josh’s wedding day couldn’t have begun more beautifully! The weather was PERFECT! Earlier in the week, the probable threat of thunderstorms caused a change in plans from an outdoor ceremony and reception, to an indoor ceremony and reception. All the pictures were scheduled to happen at the location the wedding was originally going to be, and I was SO HOPING for their sake that it wouldn’t rain a drop and they could get all their pictures taken outside. We were blessed with GORGEOUS weather, truly perfect, and plenty of time to get all the beautiful shot of Chelsea and Josh they were so hoping for…

Lindsay & Jacob | Married

Union-Club-Wedding-00-opening2Lindsay and Jacob’s wedding was a whirlwind of blissful happiness! We managed to fit three photo locations in a very short time!

Their ceremony took place in the gorgeous Cathedral of Saint John’s in downtown Cleveland, boasting a long history and amazing architecture! The party began a few blocks away at the prestigious Union Club! In between we stopped at The Arcade and the Cleveland Museum of Art for a few portraits. All these places have two things in common: history and architecture, and they perfectly suited Lindsay and Jake in every way!

Lindsay is loves marketing, and art, and Jake loves architecture and building. In fact, Jake wanted to have photos in the Museum of Art because he helped design the modern atrium addition to the museum… an impressive project!

Every detail of their celebration showcases Lindsay’s style and their personalities. As we stepped into the intricately decorated ballroom of the Union Club it was as though we’d stepped back in time! Gorgeous paintings with rich woodwork everywhere, not to mention the thoughtful detail that Lindsay and Jake added to each table…

Sarah & Dave | Medina Ohio Wedding

Williams-on-the-lake_Sarah+Dave000Their wedding day started out cloudy and overcast. Was it going to rain? Would we get blue sky? That’s the thing about having a wedding in our lovely state of Ohio… you just never know about the weather. There was a chance of rain in the forecast, but around here, a “chance” of rain comes almost any day of the year!

We, along with Sarah and Dave, were hoping for outdoor photos, so I monitored the weather with a bit of trepidation. We were so grateful when the clouds parted mid-day and the sun beamed triumphantly through the clouds. The misty uncertainty was gone and my own moment of worry vanished as we pulled up to Williams on the Lake for what would soon to be a most gorgeous and pleasant day!

Sarah and Dave tied the knot under the bluest of blue skies, with a soft breeze blowing in and the sun just beaming! Every detail of their ceremony was thought out so perfectly. It truly was a reflection of who they are together and the commitment they were making each other! As a wedding photographers we have experienced many wedding ceremonies, but none quite like this! It had a little bit of everything; a showcase of beautiful traditions that were truly important to Sarah and Dave.

Cocktail hour immediately followed the ceremony. We took a few moments to do pictures, and then Sarah and Dave joined right in, really enjoying the casual festivities of the evening. Let the party begin…

Kara & Chris “Lou” | Married

Tangier-Wedding-Kara-Chris-000Ever since we first met Kara and Chris last fall, we have been looking forward to this big, bold June wedding! I knew going into this Greek Orthodox celebration that it would be chalk-full of friends, beautiful traditions and a whole lot of PARTY (of course)! I wasn’t prepared for the generous servings of love and loyalty being shared all around!

Kara comes from a large, loving family…. but what’s harder to find than a large family, is siblings that remain close friends years into their adulthood! That’s one thing that attracted Chris “Lou” to Kara, she has an amazing sense of loyalty and love for people around her… but especially her family. And it wasn’t long before Kara found her head turning in Chris’s direction. His kindness, respect and genuine interest in people couldn’t go unnoticed. And then one February day, they were engaged!

The Tangier of Akron, Ohio knows how to throw a great party, but before we got there we had to get them officially hitched at the beautiful Annunciation Greek Orthodox Church, and stop a few places in and around Akron for photos!

Cari & Jesse | Married

Rustic-Vintage-DIY-Wedding-000I have been waiting for this day for such a looong time! Cari and I are dear friends. We’ve known each other for ye… well, since childhood, when we played with Barbies on our front porches. (Okay so maybe that’s not true, BUT if certainly FEELS like I’ve known her for just about that long!)

I met Cari eight years ago at a church conference and we slowly grew our friendship to the place where I can easily day she is one of the closest friends I have! Together as crazy single ladies, we stormed Italy together, visiting four cities (Rome. Florence, Venice, and Cinque Terre) in three weeks! That was quite the trip, chock-full of lots of amazing memories!

Shortly after our trip to Italy, I met Nathan for the first time! And then, right after that, in the midst of Nathan and I’s whirlwind romance, Cari met her Prince Charming Jesse! It seems like just yesterday we were two single girls traveling the world together… and now we’re married to AMAZING MEN and embarking on this journey of life together as we move into a new chapter as married women…

Linda Mae & Tom | Married

Thorn-Creek-Winery-Wedding-000We met only two months ago. Linda Mae and Tom introduced themselves to Nathan and I at one of our favorite places: West Point Market in Akron. Without hesitation, Linda Mae reached out and gave me the warmest hug ever! I thought, I already like them and I don’t even know them yet! That was just the beginning of what has been a lovely experience meeting and celebrating Linda Mae and Tom’s hearts toward each other, and their beautiful friends and family!

They met on a lovely summer’s day, by chance, at a neighbors birthday. Ever since their first date almost a month later, Linda Mae and Tom have been almost inseparable as they found deep friendship and love through golf outings, dances, dinners, and glasses of wine at Thorn Creek.

Last Thanksgiving, Tom knew that he needed this beautiful woman to complete his “happily ever after,” and Linda Mae agreed! Thus was the happy beginning of what would become a beautiful wedding gathering of friends and family, celebrating this thing we call love!

Kristin & Seth | Married

Brookside-Farm-Wedding-Opening2 Nathan and I had been looking forward to Kristin and Seth’s wedding for months! The rolling hills of Brookside Farm is such an incredible location and the perfect fit for the charming southern themed wedding that Kristin, her mom, and dad carefully planned together.

It seemed like just yesterday when they had first contacted us about shooting their wedding, and now here we were driving down a beautiful lane under a cloudless sky; our welcome to Brookside. I remembered speaking with Kristin just a few weeks before and listening to the excitement in her voice… it’s finally here! It’s actually happening! Seth was coming home from deployment and they were getting married: Oh happy day!

Brookside Farm is an oasis of picturesque surroundings, making it difficult for us to narrow down to just a a few. The first spot that grabbed our attention was a small farm house just down the lane from where the reception was held. It truly was perfect in every way! As the sun moved in the sky we just went from one side of the house around to the next chasing that great light! Kristin and Seth were so incredibly flexible and…

Best of the Knot!

Knot-Best-Of-WeddingsWhen I think back to the first time I ever picked up a professional camera and shot my first wedding I am brought back to that moment of flooding emotion: me knowing that I was meant to do this! At my first wedding, I shadowed the “primary” photographer who was a friend of mine. It wasn’t in the least bit intense. I wandered around, taking pictures of what intrigued me, loving every minute of being involved in the special day of such a beautiful couple! And most of all, watching keenly everything my photographer friend did… because some day, I would be doing it to.

Nathan also, loving that moment when he shot his first wedding for a friend of his. And then another, and another… until word got out – how good he was;
